Description

Wallpaper frieze roll; featuring groups of naturalistic peach coloured tea roses and green leaves on a dark turquoise ground, with shadowed stylized Art Nouveau roses at the base in a paler turquoise. Each group of roses is joined by intertwining thorny rose stems and a band of green and yellow daises. Entitled 'The Shaftesbury Frieze', with the registration number 498008. Made circa 1907. See also GH.134.1 for the same paper in a different colourway.
