Description
Wallpaper fragment; featuring narrow patterned stripes in black, blue, green and yellow, with wider stripes of a self-patterned 'textile' type paper in blue, white, beige. It is the third layer of a large room piece on scrim. With it is a cutout frieze with blue trees, reddish purple fruit and dull green leaves, outlined with black and white, bordered with geometric shapes. The topmost inch has been used as a border for GH.582. Above the frieze is a silver on white floral diaper pattern. The provenance is unknown, and the fragment dates to circa 1910-1930. There is a similar wallpaper in pattern book GH.1001.
