Description
Wallpaper pattern book; consisting of a brown textured cover, labelled 'Shand Kydd' in pencil, and 'c1932'. Stamped on the inside cover is '—Battersby – Jackson St., Petone. ----- Painter, Glazier, Decorator, Paperhanger'. Inside the back cover reads 'Shand Kydd (English)' and 'E. Battersby 67 Jackson Street Petone'. The price range of patterns in the book is from 3/- to 7/6. Designs include: + Textured floral in shadowy soft pink, grey, blue, green and lemon on a cream lustre, priced at 7/6 + Mottles priced from 3/6 to 6/9, including a textured self-patterned in lime-yellows and cream for 6/9, and a patterned mottle for 4/-. Two with a mottle of dark shapes are priced at 6/- + Floral designs including all-over leaves in purples with little pink rosebuds, and green leaves on silver, priced at 3/3 + All-over leaves in browns with deep blue, pale crimson, green and white textured, priced at 6/6 + All-over pink and yellow blossom with grey leaves, priced at 3/- + 'Hulvelle' border (daated 1930) priced at 1/-
