Description
A botanical painting by Caroline Lush. This watercolour image shows two plant specimens, one is a native New Zealand orchid (Earina mucronata) and the other is a Rata (Metrosideros fulgens). The orchid is depicted with moss or ground ferns around the base and two extended stems with long green leaves at the end. This image is dated 'Feb 1886'. The Rata is shown as a branch with green leaves and green buds. This image is dated 'Feb 1886'.
